Mosquitoes And Ticks In Maine Are
More Than A Nuisance

Your yard is the potential home to thousands of mosquitoes and ticks- meaning that every time you, your family or your pet goes outside, you’re in danger of being bitten.  Unfortunately, they’re more than just insects with an annoying or painful bite. Mosquitoes and ticks are parasitic insects that can carry disease that threatens the health of people and pets.  Mosquitoes may carry West Nile virus and certain strains of encephalitis.  Infected deer ticks in Maine can spread Lyme disease.  Every time you have a cookout, every time your kids play in the backyard, every time you work in your garden, every time you walk from your car to the house, there’s a chance for an encounter with these pests.    At Pine State Pest Solutions, we are committed to helping you keep mosquitoes and ticks from taking over your yard.

Mosquito Control For Your Yard

At Pine State Pest Solutions, we know the best way to rid your yard of mosquitoes is to employ an integrated solution. We’ll conduct a thorough inspection of your yard to identify mosquito breeding and resting sites.  Based on our observations, we’ll work with you to develop a mosquito treatment plan that targets areas where mosquitoes breed and where adult mosquitoes hide when they’re looking for relief from the hot sun including trees, bushes and shady areas under decks.  We’ll also show you what conditions attract these biting pests and what changes you can make to your property to make it less hospitable to mosquitoes.

Pine State offers one-time mosquito treatments for outdoor events but for best results, we recommend implementing a seasonal mosquito control program, typically May through September.

Outdoor Tick Control

To help property owners eliminate ticks on their property and inside their homes, Pine State Pest Solutions offers effective tick control solutions.  Our experienced technicians will inspect your property and then focus tick treatments on areas where ticks are likely to be lurking including low brush, yards and lawns, and surrounding fields and woods.  Offering one-time tick services, for optimal results we suggest ongoing tick control when ticks are most active, typically April through October.  When you contact us for help getting rid of ticks, we’ll also go over habitat changes you can implement to make your property less appealing to these parasitic insects.
